This is the first inking to a page from my picture book, ‘Roo Fly’. The main character shows up in this scene but only in color. From here, I’ll apply a second coat and then waterpaint this bad boy.

I read a Beakman and Jax from the Sunday funnies recently that described the process of making ink using honey, soot, and water. This ink can apparently last for thousands of years. I think that’s so cool but I probably won’t do it for this one. Look out for crude calligraphy…
